God’s Garden at St. John’s

In the spring of 2018, with the help and support of many parishioners and others, St. John’s established a Jessie’s Community Garden on the south side of our property. In the garden, we grow vegetables that are distributed to our neighbors.

If you would like to help with garden maintenance, you may sign up online or at St. John’s (look for the sign-up sheets on the large bulletin board outside Hubbard Hall). We are asking individuals, families or groups to sign up for one week during the summer and early fall, during which volunteers may come at their convenience to pull weeds, harvest produce and do other garden maintenance as needed. We ask that all volunteer groups or families include at least one person who either attended one of our garden volunteer orientations in late June, or has enough gardening experience to be able to work with minimal supervision and direction.

Produce will be distributed free of charge, from the front of St. John’s property, on designated days. Garden photos and news will be shared here, in our weekly e-mail newsletter and on our social media pages. Feel free to stop by to see what’s growing!
