Ash Wednesday on February 17 marks the beginning of Lent, the 40-day season of penitence and preparation before Easter. This year St. John’s will hold three brief outdoor services at 7 a.m., 12 noon, and 4 p.m. Imposition of ashes will be available at these services for those who are comfortable receiving them. The 4 p.m. service is especially designed for families with children, but everyone is welcome to attend any service.
At 7 p.m., we will livestream the Ash Wednesday liturgy, which will include music and a homily, on YouTube, Facebook and the web site. You may watch the service video live or any time afterward.
