The altar of repose is a place where the communion wine and bread consecrated on Maundy Thursday are set aside, or “reserved,” for use on Good Friday. St. John’s altar of repose will be available near the High Altar for quiet prayer and reflection after the Maundy Thursday evening service. You may hold a “virtual vigil” via a live-stream video of the altar of repose, at the conclusion of the Maundy Thursday service, April 18, 2019. Click here for the virtual vigil.
