Daily Office & Devotions

There are many ways of spending time in prayer; and whether you pray in the solitude of your own special place or make time for prayer with a close friend, daily prayer is an important element of our ongoing relationship with God.
 
Within the Anglican tradition, the practice of daily prayer is encouraged through the praying of The Daily Office. The Daily Office has been part of The Book of Common Prayer since the earliest versions of the Prayer Book. The Daily Office has its roots in the earliest monastic traditions of the Church and is comprised of separate times of prayer throughout the day: Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline (which is said later in the evening). The Daily Office may be found in The Book of Common Prayer, pages 35-135.

 Daily prayer may also be done through meditation and prayerful reading. There are several books to help guide one's prayer life and, again, online resources are available for reflection and meditation. Some examples of online resources for daily meditation are provided below:
