The Global Missions Committee is gearing up for a Mission Trip to Cuba in April. For more information and to find out how you can help, visit the 2012 Mission Trip page.
The mission of St. John's Global Missions Committee is to promote an awareness of all of God's people around the world, to build global connections where God reveals the opportunity, and to develop meaningful relationships with our Christian brothers and sisters abroad.
The Global Missions Committee works with a companion parish in Cuba, Santa Cruz del Norte, and supports a parish school, Saint Sauveur, in Les Cayes, Haiti.
Global Missions was established at the annual meeting in 1999 under the umbrella of St. John's Outreach Committee. It originated from contacts established during a Honduras clothing drive by Ms. Evica and Ms. Montas who sought to address the needs of our neighbors in the Caribbean community. The committee has existed autonomously since 2002. It reports directly to the Vestry and works closely with a Vestry Liason. The group generally meets once a month as announced in the church calendar. Over the years, membership has varied from 6-10 people and has had the generous participation from several non-members working on its programs.
The committee welcomes new members of all ages. Join us and bring your talents, interests, and concerns about the world in which we live. Contact the clergy or any Global Missions member for more information.
