A Schedule for Reading the Bible in a Year
Click here for a suggested schedule for reading the Bible in the course of 365 days. (Click here for a printable pdf file of the schedule: One_Year_Bible_Read.pdf). This schedule is based on a daily pattern of reading three chapters of the Old Testament (starting with Genesis), one Psalm (or one part of a longer psalm) and one chapter of the New Testament. You may start at any place in the schedule. And, please note that the schedule allows for taking each Sunday off to hear Scripture read in church.
An alternative plan for reading the New Testament, which allows for spreading the gospels throughout the year, is the following: Matthew, Romans, Mark, I & II Corinthians, Luke, Acts, Galatians - Jude, John, the Revelation to John. Some may find it of greater value to read the gospels in sequence, Matthew through John, noting the commonalities and differences. There is no one correct way to read Scripture. Follow a plan that best suits your interests.
